Our latest template “Business Meeting“, with versions for both Joomla 2.5 and WordPress!

Our new theme for WordPress and Joomla has a slider!

Our latest template Business Meeting has versions for Joomla 2.5 and WordPress! The main new functionality we have added to this design is a header with sliding images in it. Below I will explain in details how you can manage the slider for the WordPress and the Joomla template.

WordPress Functionality

Business Meeting settings pageIn WordPress, once you install the theme, a new menu will appear on your admin page named Business Meeting. On this page, you can configure whether you want to enable the slider or show a single image and how many slides to be shown if slide show is enabled. The images for the slide show should be 950x 290px and should be uploaded in the “images” folder of your theme directory with names image1.jpg, image2.jpg etc.

Select a Featured image for all the posts and pages you want!Additionally, in WordPress you can have a custom image in the header for each post or page you publish. This is achieved by using the standard WordPress functionality featured image. Our theme slider is configured to display such a featured image instead of the slider. If no image is featured the theme will show your default slider settings for the post.

Joomla Functionality

Business Meeting for Joomla 2.5 configuration pageThe configuration of the slider for the Joomla 2.5 template is similar. In the Template Manager you can set the same options: if the slider functionality of the header will be enabled or disabled, and if enabled how many slides will be rotated.

In the Joomla version, you can easily hide the slider for non-index pagesIn Joomla, however, you cannot have custom image for different pages, as this is possible for WordPress only. What the template offers instead is to choose whether the header will be visible for all the pages or only for the home page. If you decide to use the slider only on your front page, the design will adjust accordingly, so your other articles will still look great!

Currently, we are not planning on adding new Drupal themes. This may change in the future depending on the demand we see and the availability of design resources we can dedicate to this.

  3. Michael Mapes says:

How do I change the slides in Joomla?

    • Hristo says:

      Hi,

You can change the slides by replacing the images named image1.jpg, image2.jpg etc. in the templates/siteground-j16-44/images folder :)

  4. Michael Mapes says:

Thank you! Now – if I want to do the same thing for a wordpress version I should just go to the same folder and replace it correct? I have done that at my website – and even deleted all of the images and then only re-uploaded the ones I want to show and can’t get it to work.

Sorry about this – I ended up deciding to go w/ wordpress instead.

I really like the Business Meeting template, it displays fine in Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. But in Internet Explorer 8 and 9 it displays badly depending on how you have compatibility mode set. This is not a problem for me, but it is for my customer and his customers. They don’t want to be bothered with having to change a simple setting. My guess is they need compatibility mode to view the an internal site they use use every day for their work.
It’s looks like I need an alternate .CSS style sheet just for IE. I can see how to enable one, Just don’t know where to start creating one.\
    Can you provide some guidance?

    • Hristo says:

      Hi Edwin,

I’ve just added some CSS magic to the theme and it should look fine on IE 8 and 9. You can download the theme anew and reinstall it. If you keep experiencing issues with this, please post a screenshot in our forum so I can troubleshoot and help you further :)
