Spring season stroke in full force at SiteGround Headquarters – fighting off the global brute-force attack against WordPress and Joomla to begin with and following that up in a special podcast interview later. Then straight off to putting up our newest Webinar series. We also managed to sneak in some long-awaited updates and launched our brand new Reseller Area for our loyal partners. Nearly entering the second quarter of this year and amid the celebration of our 9th Birthday, we have news about expanding one of our most-popular technologies, the SiteGround SuperCacher, and managed to start a new fresh talent training season. We have so much enthusiasm that you can safely say at SiteGround HQs Spring has already started.
Even the shortest month of the year proved not to be uneventful at SiteGround. We deepened our relationship with leading partners and re-organized some of our self-help resources to top off your hosting experience with even more value-added extras. We also completed the process of migrating all our shared servers to our latest server hardware. So we’re all geared up for some exciting improvements in the months to come!
To recap one of the most inspiring initiatives of last year, the How Cool Is That challenge, we asked you to vote for the coolest SiteGround technology. We received an overwhelming volume of feedback and comments! Nearly 1000 people shared their personal insight and we were extremely flattered to hear your evaluation of our services as unmatched in the industry – the greatest recognition, when it comes from our clients! Our promise for this year is to not only match, but exceed your expectations!
In 2012, SiteGround more than ever put the focus on people – both on our clients and our employees. That’s why, in line with the “more-for-the-people” theme of the past twelve months, we also decided to do our end-of-the-year party a little differently. We did what we do best – we put our energy in a good use and for a good cause and in addition to launching some great Holiday promotions for you, we organized a charity fundraising event at the office. Read below for more details and pictures from the event and for a little inside look on how we’ll end 2012 and get on to the next one in full speed. We are just halfway through our How Cool Is That Challenge! And we love it – we launched many new services, drew funny infographics and gave out lots of prizes. But there’s a lot more coming! This week, it’s time to announce our improved Daily Backup service! We know there’s nothing funny about losing your data, but we came up with some funny ways to lose your files to show how important having a backup really is and how our improved service can cover for you. Enjoy and play it safe – have a look at our improved Daily backup options on time!
As we are slowly but surely entering cooler weather, we decided to shake things up around here. Last month we rolled out the news about the How Cool Is That Challenge – a great new way to get to know more about the services you’re using, learn cool new stuff and win prizes along the way! This month, we set full sail into the challenge!
Last month we closed the holiday season with some great new changes – a refreshed Customer Area, our new and easily accessible Support HelpDesk, our friendly staff profiles. This month we were busy putting the final touches to these changes and fine-tuning them to make your client experience even better. Of course, we managed to sneak in some new features and important server software updates along the way, because your hosting experience will be incomplete without them. We even hopped off to a few new conference destinations to make way for some exciting partnerships that we will announce very soon. The new business season promises great surprises, don’t miss them.
As you may have already noticed, this month marked some great changes in the SiteGround Customer Area. It had a complete design makeover along with some brand new features, all aimed to improve the way your account information is displayed and simplify the way you interact with it. You’ll see better web design layouts, easier management and an overall more intuitive interface – so that you can take your mind off the mundane tasks of managing your hosting and focus on your website content.

The end of June finds us in the middle of several important projects in SiteGround: a brand new web redesign is heavily in the making, complimented by the preparation of a brand new office for the SiteGround staff. To share the excitement of the work, we will keep you posted on the go. Meanwhile, you can check our new server location – Singapore, especially if you are in Asia or Australia. And one more important thing before you hit the beach: both WordPress and Joomla released new versions in June, so hurry up and upgrade for a carefree vacation!

Here we are almost in a Summer mood – but rather than taking a break, we are preparing to introduce some long-planned in-house improvements. In the following months we are entering the final test stages of some major innovations – a brand-new Customer Area, a new Support HelpDesk system, new cPanel and yet another data center location – this time in Asia. This is as much as we will reveal for now, but you can expect the first sneak peeks and screenshots of most of the new things no later than next month! As you can see below, we travelled a lot lately, which resulted in landing a brand new datacenter in Europe, visiting some open software events in the meantime and planning a lot more to come up.
